2008 2nd XI captain: David Fudge
Immensely proud of the squad in 2007, but the 2nd XI will not rest on its success and I will be looking for the boys to push on this season and even better themselves against the challenges that lay ahead. Promotion was the aim of the game and finishing 2nd was a great achievement however having lead the league every week apart from the one that mattered remaining un--beaten throughout the season may have eventually have been our down fall! If anything 2007 taught us to play positive cricket and not to be afraid of losing and that is an attitude that we will take forward into Division 1. The 2nd XI squad looks even stronger this year, with new additions to the club and the emergence of some very talented colts that served great apprentices in the 3's last year. Good luck to my fellow captains Matthew Davies and James Lloyd and especially the 3rd XI squad whom are back playing league cricket. 2008 promises to be one of the clubs most successful seasons in its illustrious 145 year history, and like me I hope you work your hardest to be apart of it.
