NATWEST CRICKETFORCE WEEKEND 4TH & 5TH APRIL
Dear Wickmen
Just to say a big thank you to all members who turned up this weekend to
help with maintenance around the clubhouse, especially those of you who
made on both days A BIG THANK YOU to Dom who organised the two days with
NAT West and the film crew. Thanks also to Richard Cole for promoting the
club with Nat West and persuading them to film their ad at the Wick, and
to Fordy for the food on day 1
Jobs done included
1 Removing grass from nets area. New nets being constructed today
2 Paint the outside of the pavilion
3 New decking on the balconies - to be completed
4 Painting floor and wall of the changing room
5 Painting scoreboard
6 Thorough cleaning of the bar.
DBW is continuing to tile and decorate the loos
Filming highlights included
1 Darren Gough shifting soil, playing cricket and painting the clubhouse
2 Del Boy being filmed in the score box
3 Joey marking out the boundary
4 DBW up the ladder
5 Umpteen film takes of guys taking decking backwards and forwards into
the clubhouse
6 Your Chairman on our new roller chasing rather slowly a big pig dressed
in cricket gear around the outfield
Apart from new nets and a new roller some major work is being undertaken
by our grounds man to improve the outfield on the main square.
